Galv’s Plugins

Galv is a longtime contributor to RPG Maker games, designing some truly amazing plugins. The layer plugin lets you add some truly beautiful fogs and layers, which add a tonne of atmosphere to the game. This is an example of overworld clouds. We have fogs, shadows, clouds, and more – all to serve to make GrimmVale a truly beautiful world.

Galv also produced a step effect plugin, that we use for footsteps, splashes, and dust, combined with footfall sounds.

We also use Galv’s plugins to change the shading in the game in dark, fiery, or later on under-water sequences.

Galv also built a speech bubble system that is used EVERYWHERE in the game.

The speech bubbles really make the characters come alive, and give the game a nice comic-book look.

Lastly, we modified Galv’s rolling credits to work with RPG Maker MZ, and use it heavily so that we give credit to everyone that produced plugins and assets used in the game, and do so in a way that is fun for players to view.

Galv’s generosity has been incredibly essential to making this game into something everyone will want to play.
